Lincoln’s journey from poverty to the White House !
Accept defeat, otherwise the effort is not in vain, those who try never give up, friends, today I am going to talk about the most popular President of America Abraham Lincoln, who played the most important role in ending slavery in the whole world including America. Has played a role but after the struggles he had achieved this position, I do not think that apart from him or anyone else, Abraham Lincoln’s childhood was spent in such poverty that his whole family had to stumble door to door for a house. His father did not even have enough money to send Abraham to school, Abraham studied from the books sought by people, he started working as a laborer from childhood, at the age of 9 he took his mother He lost the girl he loved and wanted to marry, she died, he turned to the election to fight against slavery, he had to face defeat many times in that too. There was a time in his life when the knife and stayed away from the knife because he had lost himself that he I was afraid that he might not kill himself, but friends, if you don’t give up, then the effort is not in vain. Those who try never lose. On the strength of their struggles, they won the election of the 16th President of America and America faced its biggest crisis, the American Civil War i.e. crossed the American Civil War and eradicated slavery, so friends, let us know in detail about Abraham Lincoln who traveled from poverty to the White House.
Abraham Lincoln was born on 12 February 1809 at a place called Hard Encounter in the state of Kent, USA. His father’s name was Thomas Lincoln and mother’s name was Nancy Lincoln. His whole family was very poor, and lived in a wooden house built by himself. Apart from Abraham Lincoln, he also had an elder sister. Whose name was Sarah, Thomas and Nancy had another son after Abraham, but he died in childhood. Lincoln’s father Thomas was a farmer, and at the same time he also worked as an elder. Only after 2 years of Abraham’s birth, the Lincoln family had to leave that place due to a land dispute. After this, in 1811, he came to stay at knob creek farm, 13 kilometers north of there. And there he started working by making the land suitable for cultivation. But after some time here too, he had to go through a land dispute and had to leave that place again. After which, in 1816, the Lincoln family settled on the banks of the Ohio River in Indiana. Where he started farming in the dense forest, friends, let me tell you that even today his house and fields have been preserved as a monument.
When Abraham Lincoln was 6 years old, he was sent to study in a school. But looking at the economic condition of the house. He had to tell his father’s hand by working in the fields. And his father never wanted either. Abraham had to leave his studies in a few days even though he did not want to study, for this reason he was very fond of writing. And whenever he used to get time by taking books from others, in the meantime a very sad turn came in his life.
When Abraham’s mother died on 5 October 1818, he was 9 years old. After the death of the mother, the entire responsibility of the house fell on Abraham’s sister Sarah. At that time, Sarah was also only 11 years old, after 1 year, seeing the troubles of the house, Thomas married a widow named Sarah Bush Johnson. That woman already had 3 children, Abraham was loved by the stepmother more than his real mother and never let him feel the lack of a mother. Along with Sarah Bush Johnson, she also helped in writing her studies, Abraham also considered her stepmother very much.
After becoming the President, he said in an interview that whatever I am today, all the credit goes to my mother. Abraham’s father used to treat him very cruelly and he did not want him to study, that is why Abraham had his own house. To run, he made a boat using the work of magnificence learned in childhood and started carrying goods by becoming a boat carrier, as well as he used to work in people’s fields, after some time he got a job in a shop. And there he started getting some time to study, while staying here, he started studying law on his own without any college. At the time of law studies, once he came to know that a retired judge lives in the village on the other side of the river. Lincoln, who had a lot of gourd books, decided to go to him, and requested him to let them read his collection of books as well. It was very cold those days. But Abraham took his boat in the icy river without any hindrance. On going a little distance, his nine collided with an ice, and it broke there, yet he did not give up, and swam across the river and reached his house, and requested to read the same books which saw his passion. He was allowed to read all his books.
But at that time the servant working at his house was on leave. That’s why he asked Lincoln to do his household chores, which Lincoln happily accepted. He used to bring wood from the forest for the retired judge’s house. Along with filling water for their needs, they used to do all the household chores. And in the name of remuneration, he was allowed to read only books. But Lincoln was more than happy with it. After some time he became the post master in a village. Because of which people started getting to know him. And now Abraham Lincoln has started respecting them, seeing the problems of the local people. Thought of entering politics because slavery was at its peak at that time. Lincoln had a strong hatred for the atrocities being committed on the slaves from the beginning. And he wanted to end slavery, with this idea he entered politics and contested the MLA election but he had to face a crushing defeat in that election. On the other hand, while contesting the elections, he had left the post master’s job. Due to which he had a lot of money, Abraham Lincoln used to stay away from women anyway.
But at the age of 24, he fell deeply in love with a girl named Ann Rutledge, but unfortunately Rutledge died of a serious illness after a few days. Abraham was deeply shocked by her death, and he used to sit near his beloved’s grave for hours and hours in tears. Everything in Abraham Lincoln’s life was going against him. There was a time in Lincoln that he was so disappointed with his life that he used to stay away from knife thieves. Because he was afraid that he might kill himself, at that time a friend of his, Bowling Green, boosted his morale and pulled him out of depression.
With the help of his friend, Lincoln again contested the election of the legislator, and this time after winning the election, he was counted among the youngest legislators, and then gradually he attracted the youth towards him, now in the assembly he openly used to speak Due to which he also started giving importance to his words. On the issue of making Springfield the new capital by him, the government had to obey him. Abraham Lincoln now got a license to become a lawyer, and then he met Steward, a famous lawyer. Started working with each other. But after working for a few days, the steward left him. And Abraham also failed in advocacy, because he did not even take the cases of the poor to fight. And he never fought a false case in his whole life, but he unsuccessfully advocated for 20 years, because doing that work gave him peace of mind. Friends, many stories of his days of advocacy testify to his honesty and the public. Lincoln and one of his associate lawyers once punished a domineering man who had encroached on the land of a mentally ill woman, the case lasted only 15 minutes in the court. After which the associate lawyer took the full fee from the woman’s brother. After that the lawyer happily told that the woman has paid the full fee. And he is very happy with the decision of the court, but Lincoln immediately said that I am not happy. That money belongs to a poor sick woman, and I would rather die of hunger than take such money. If you want your fee then take it. But return my share of the money to him immediately.
In 1842, Lincoln married a girl named Mary Todd Lincoln. Mary Todd Lincoln gave birth to four sons one after the other. But only Robert, born in 1846, survived, and all the other children died in childhood. In 1860, Lincoln contested for the presidency of the United States and eventually achieved the greatest success of his life by becoming the 16th President of America. On November 6, 1860, after becoming the President of America at 16, Lincoln did such important works which were not only of national but international importance, Lincoln’s biggest achievement was to raise America from the Civil War. The credit for the end of slavery by amending the US constitution goes to Lincoln only. On April 14, 1965, President Lincoln and his wife had come to see a play at the Ford Theater in Washington DC. Where a famous actor John Bilkis shot, and Abraham died the next day on 15 April 1865. Friends, this is the lesson we get from Abraham Lincoln who achieved such great success after the struggle. That if we want to achieve something in life, then we have to move forward with positive thinking that never gives up. Thank you very much for giving your valuable time.
